Tuesday 17th January – Bike **** Two Rivers – Deben to Orwell, short version – sunny but cold!

Woke to lovely sunshine but cold only being 3 degrees which is OK as the wind was very light, so after breakfast Mag and I decided to wrap up warm and head out on the bikes, with this being my first outing on the bike this month!
As we were out for tea and cake at an old friend in the afternoon we didn’t want to go too far, so we headed down to the prom still covered in sand and shingle after the high tides of last week! Then at The Fludgers we took the road to The Dip before returning to the coast path where we had a chat with an old neighbour. We past the golf course and headed to the jetty at The Ferry where we stopped for a while to enjoy the views and with the tide low we biked into the boat yard so I could get some nice muddy river pics :)
Then back along the road to Ferry Lane where we turned inland and into The Grove which was a little muddy after Sundays rain. Mag then headed for home while I continued to the viewing point at Landguard where I had to change camera battery and then I checked the extra high tide line for coal, sadly very little as we need an onshore gale to stir it up again. At the end of Landguard beach by the backwater I found a kilo of coal. Then back across the reserve to the prom again and home, a top 12-mile ride being out for two and a half hours:)
